CONSTRUCTION TERMINAL ARRIVALS EXTERNAL PASSENGER FLIGHTS

The general objective of the project is to develop the transport infrastructure of Traian Vuia Timisoara International Airport by constructing a new terminal arrivals external passenger flights, in order to ensure an extended air traffic, with maximum safety and adequate security, in accordance with European and national regulations in the field of air transport. The project “Building Terminal Arrivals External Passenger Races” at Traian Vuia International Airport Timisoara contributes to the achievement of the specific objective OS 2.3 of LIOP (the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme) – Increasing the sustainable use of airports as it aims to develop and improve the air transport system of one of the 21 airports in Romania, facilitating the achievement of the expected passenger flow in 2023 in Romania of 20 million passengers, respectively the increase of the volume of passengers transited through Romanian airports. The project falls under type A of financing actions, according to LIOP – New investment projects in airport infrastructure, aiming at the construction of terminals, accompanied by environmental protection measures. In terms of contribution to the achievement of LIOP result indicators, OS 2.3, the successful implementation of the project determines the realisation of the programme indicator ID 2S17 – Modernised Airports (number): 1 modernised airport, i.e. result indicator ID 2S13 – Passengers embarked and disembarked in airport transport (million passengers/year):2.007.960 persons, in the context of a national target value 2023: 20 million passengers/year. The general objective of the project contributes to increasing accessibility and regional mobility through investments in airport infrastructure as well as through an increased volume of passengers transiting the airport. The project provides for the construction of a passenger arrival terminal for external flights, enabling the achievement and maintenance of a standard of quality of services offered to passengers (management of passenger and baggage flows) in accordance with the provisions and recommendations in this field formulated by the international regulations in force, thus ensuring compliance with: — Regulation (EC) No 139/2014; — Regulation (EC) No 300/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on common rules in the field of civil aviation security and repealing Regulation (EC) No 2320/2002, as amended; — Council Regulation (EC) No 3922/91 as regards common technical requirements and administrative procedures applicable to commercial air transport, Subpart S; Commission Regulation (EC) No 272/2009 supplementing the common basic standards on civil aviation security laid down in Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 300/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as amended;
