DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC R & D INFRASTRUCTURE AND CREATION OF NEW INFRASTRUCTURES

Increasing the research capacity of 17 medical units (research centers) in Romania in the field of angiography by using the angiography systems acquired in phase 1 of the project and clinical research of 100 patients on average/research center within the emerging AngioNET cluster with the role of stimulating medical research activity in Romania, with direct effects on improving the quality of life of the population. The creation of the AngioNET cluster within this project aims to generate, apply initiatives and activities related to health, promote and encourage cooperation between companies, organisations, universities and public entities based on the results obtained in the applied research activities proposed by this project and the transfer of knowledge in order to increase economic competitiveness in the field of cardiovascular diseases and digestive tumors in Romania. Developing the research, development and innovation capacity of the cluster and its members and encouraging their access to clinical research activities through diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures in cardiovascular diseases, vascular cerebro; malformations in pediatric cardiology; aneurysms of peripheral vessels; digestive tumors, as well as the introduction of therapeutic decision-making through the formation of interdisciplinary teams represent new directions/research activities that contribute to the creation of added value health services to which, through the distribution of angiography systems, patients will have access from all over the country. The newly created structure will provide logistical support for biomedical research in Romania, through coordination of clinical studies, quality management in medical research, management and analysis of databases. The project will carry out its activity in the thematic area “SANATATE” being directly in line with the objectives of Priority Axis 1 Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RDI) in support of economic competitiveness and business development, Investment Priority 1a: Improving research and innovation infrastructures and capacities to develop RDI excellence and promoting centres of competence in particular those of European interest, Specific Objective OS1.1 Increasing RDI capacity in the areas of smart specialisation and health, Action 1.1.1 – Large R & D infrastructures, Project type: Investment projects for public R & D institutions/universities.
