Marketplace FOR SME DIGITALISING

The general objective of the project is to support innovation, diversify and increase the productivity of S.C. PLASTIFLEX S.R.L. by creating an innovative IT platform MARKETPLACE to create, customise and manage the products of Romanian producers in a friendly online store type commercial environment. The developed platform will allow users from all spheres of activity, interested in marketing goods/products/services in the online environment, to create their own virtual stores, following a series of explicit, easy and intuitive steps, in response to the current trend of relocation of physical commerce in the online environment. The project meets the priorities set by the National Strategy for Competitiveness 2014-2020, namely: P3. Supporting factors and services. According to the Strategy, “regarding research, development and creativity, there is no critical mass of researchers, the private sector is not interested in research activities, SMEs engaged in innovation activities are small, and the community in creative industries is undeveloped”. Thus, it becomes essential to develop enterprises’ own R & D and innovation activities, including by promoting support measures financed by national and European funds. The development of integrated structures that bring together companies and research organisations with a similar and/or complementary profile (e.g. innovation clusters, competence centres) is presented as a priority; P4. Promoting sectors of the future, including Information and Communications Technology. The IT platform developed as a result of the research, development and innovation activities carried out aims to: — aggregating all the essential options for creating, customising, marketing and managing the products of the online stores currently in place and making them explicit in an easily understandable way for users/customers, thus eliminating the barriers they face, related to the contracting of specialised services. The innovation of the platform consists of the possibility offered to every SME even medium or large enterprise (from all production areas), to create, customise and manage modules such as “online store or showroom” without constraints on the use of specialised companies in this respect, scenario that is not only costly, but may encounter communication problems, technical problems or delays that can significantly affect the client’s launch schedule due to the lack of experience of SMEs in the field of digital trade. The development of the IT platform (MARKETPLACE) proposed for financing aims to increase economic competitiveness and vertical integration of ICT solutions within the company. The estimated deadline for the implementation of the project is 24 months. The product innovate
