The general objective of the project is to ensure the refunctionalisation of a degraded and non-productive land with an area of 16.194 sqm located within Brasov Municipality in order to improve the urban environment and quality of life, revitalise the city, reduce air pollution and promote noise reduction measures. The project falls within the actions supported under Priority Axis 4, Investment Priority 4.2. — Carrying out actions aimed at improving the urban environment, revitalising cities, regenerating and decontaminating brownfields (including reconversion areas), reducing air pollution and promoting noise reduction measures, by: — Making pedestrian alleys, cyclist tracks, creating sidewalks; — Arrangement of green spaces (defrosting of existing vegetation, land modeling, planting of perennial plants, planting trees and shrubs; — Creation of facilities for recreation on landscaped lands (special areas for sport, playgrounds for children, recreation areas); — The purchase and installation of constructive elements such as alleys, gazeboes, pergolas, grills, toilets; — Installation of WI-FI in public spaces; Installation of video surveillance systems of spaces arranged by the project; — Equipped with urban furniture; — Connecting the investment objective to public utilities; — Development of irrigation system and lighting system for the spaces arranged by the project; The objective of the project is in close correlation with the general objective of the ROP 2014-2020 by offering new alternatives for leisure for residents and by offering new alternatives for tourism services, reducing air pollution and noise, and improving the urban aspect of the city through the rehabilitation and recovery of unused, unproductive and degraded urban spaces. The landscaped green area will serve as a place for recreation and sports for residents of the residential district Valea Cetatii, but also for all residents of the city, namely tourists, who visit the city. As a novelty, starting from the solutions offered by specialists in town planning that are confronted with pollution and congestion, activities are provided to encourage the use of the bicycle as an energy means of travel. Multifunctional space will promote active urban mobility, alternative cycling and intermodality with public transport. Early education on alternative mobility solutions and their benefits are the basic pillars of increasing the quality of life in Brasov.
