The main socio-economic objectives of the projects are: — Construction of: 8 junctions (including Dumbrava road junction), 4 service, 4 rest areas, 1 maintenance and control center, 1 maintenance and monitoring center and 66 structures; — To ensure by the end of 2020, 70,00 km of a new 2x2 motorway for the connection between Sebes and Turda; — To improve the traffic efficiency through reduction of the travel time; — To improve transport efficiency through reduction of operation and maintenance costs (both for users and infrastructure operator); — To improve traffic safety; — To reduce environmental impact; — To improve accessibility. After both phases are going to be Finalised, the project as an overall will accomplish the general objectives of the program – Priority Axis 2: Development of a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system.
