General objective: Increase participation in compulsory education, especially for children at high risk of early leaving the special education system, in Sibiu County. This project contributes to the achievement of specific objective 10, priority axis 10.1 ensuring the increase of participation of children at high risk of dropping out of school, in compulsory education by providing an adequate educational infrastructure and tailored to the specific needs of students with special needs. Thus, by increasing the access, quality and attractiveness of education, we contribute to increasing the participation rate at different levels of education, reducing early school leaving and leaving, increasing compulsory education attainment and increasing the transition rate towards higher levels of education. According to statistics at European level, Romania is the third highest rate of money in Europe. A country in which, according to a UNICEF statistics, school dropout is growing in recent years and affects in particular four children’s groups: Roma, those who grew up in poor families, those from rural areas and those with disabilities. The categories identified are those to which this project is addressed given that the majority of children schooled in CSEI 1 come from poor social backgrounds from Roma communities. An aggravating factor contributing to school drop-out is that the existing school infrastructure is not adapted to the types of disabilities of children and their special needs. Thus, this is one of the reasons that at Sibiu county level led to a high percentage of drop-outs recorded at the level of special education, which is addressed in the plan of measures to prevent absenteeism in Sibiu County. compared to the above, the overall objective of the project contributes to an increase in the quality and performance of the educational process, as well as to the increase of participation in early education and compulsory education. This objective is also reflected in the Sibiu County Development Strategy for the period 2010-2013 and the county development directorates for the period 2014-2020.
