The project area is located in the north of Slovakia in the northern part of Žilina self-governing region, in the town of Krásno nad Kysucou and in the villages of Nová Bystrica, Stará Bystrica, Klubina, Zborov nad Bystricou, Radôstka and Oščadnica. The villages are located in the valleys of the watercourses Kysuca, Bystrica, Oščadnica and Radôstka. As part of the project, 123,46 km of public sewerage will be built in the mentioned municipalities with the draining of waste water to the extended and intensive WWTP Krásno nad Kysucou. The purpose of the project is also the completion of 22.41 km of public water supply in the villages Nová Bystrica, Stará Bystrica, Krásno nad Kysucou and Oščadnica in a common groove with sewerage. The project will increase the number of inhabitants with drinking water supply by 2400 inhabitants, drain sewage by 16500 inhabitants and Krásno nad Kysucov WWTP will extend to the capacity of 24557 EO. The increased population with improved urban waste water treatment will be 19241 EA. The expansion of the public sewerage system, the water supply network and the intensification of the Krásno nad Kysucou WWTP will improve the environment in the region. Cesspools that can be leaked and avoid uncontrollable discharges of sewage are discarded. This will improve the quality of the environment and achieve compliance with the Slovak Water Policy Concept, the Strategy Papers and the EU Directives.
