This project will continue the rehabilitation of the historically polluted site of 30 ha (13.5 ha phase I and 16.5 ha phase II) up to accepted cleaning standards, consisting of protecting surface waters and bringing the land to an appropriate standard to be used as a green zone, to include areas dedicated to planting, as well as to address any impact on the local environment brought by the previous activity within the site. The general objective of the project coincides with Specific Objective 4.3.- Reduction of historically polluted sites, Priority Axis 4., aimed at promoting investments that contribute to reducing the risk to human health and the environment. According to the National Strategy and Action Plan for the management of contaminated sites, the specific objective of the project is one of the fundamental aspects of environmental protection in the process of harmonising national policies with those of the European Union.
