The general objective of the project “OmniDJ – Collaborative streaming platform with on-demand services” is to research and develop an innovative technology in the horizontal fields of ICT and multimedia with the aim of finally developing a product/service designed to cover a real need identified in the market. Through its implementation, the project “OmniDJ – Collaborative streaming platform with on-demand services” will contribute to the specific objective of increasing the contribution of the ICT sector for economic competitiveness, specific objective of Priority Axis 2 – Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for a competitive digital economy within the Competitiveness Operational Programme 2014-2020. The contribution to the achievement of specific objective 2.2 is achieved through two different approaches: (1) research-developing a set of innovative technologies to be published Open Source and disseminated within the commercial and academic community and (2) developing an ICT platform product that will give access to a large range of customers to resources (in this case creative/cultural content) until now not accessible both from a technological point of view (non-existent bidirectional streaming technologies, inderactive with mash-up and jamming) and from a financial point of view (high costs for paying for online music flows) The platform proposed by this project will contribute greatly to increasing the use, quality and access to information and communication technology both at the local level of Romania and at the future level of the European Union. As a consequence, the successful implementation of the platform will increase the contribution of the ICT sector for economic competitiveness, one of the main objectives of the POC Priority Axis 2. At the same time, this objective corresponds to the mission that formed the basis for the establishment of the “Cluster for the Rapid Evolution of Innovative Technologies – CERTI”, promoting the sustainable financing and development of cluster members and their projects in the field of information and communication technology, thus contributing to the coagulation in Romania of cluster-type economic agglomerations, capable of generating both intelligent and sustainable growth and value chain in the field of IT&C.
