Student entrepreneur at the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering

Increasing the number of higher education graduates from fields of intelligent specialisation related to the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, through active measures (advice, entrepreneurial programs, increasing the professional skills of university teachers, awarding scholarships, active interaction with social partners in the economic environment). The project will be implemented by the University of Craiova. The target group will comprise the following categories: — 300 high school students (class XI-XII) residing in the region of S-V Oltenia; — 440 students from fields of intelligent specialisation, with priority from the fields of urmatoare:Stiinte- Chemistry, Technological Biochemistry, Pharmacy Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Medical Physics, Computer Physics, Mathematics, Computer Mathematics, Engineering Informatics -:Electromecanica, Electrical Engineering and Computers, Industrial Informatics, electrical Systems Engineering, Equipment and Installations for Aviation, Automation and Applied Computer Science, Multimedia Systems Engineering, Computers, Applied Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Economic Engineering, Engineering and Environmental Protection in Industry, Navigation, Maritime and River Transport, Welding Engineering, Material Science Minimum 300 students will come from disadvantaged categories (rural environment, non-traditional students, Roma); 80 academics. The implementation of the project will bring the following benefits: —increasing the number of people from disadvantaged backgrounds that complete higher education with at least 300 people; —the significant decrease of the number of students who drop out of higher education (we estimate that over 90 % of the target group will complete the higher education due to the support measures provided by the project); development of the entrepreneurial spirit of the students from the target group; —diversification of educational offers through entrepreneurial courses; —increasing teaching skills with applications in entrepreneurship for 80 academics. In the long term the implementation of the project will generate the following benefits: —increasing the relevance of professional training in the university environment by bringing the academic curriculum closer to the requirements of the economic environment; —increasing the number of companies set up by graduates of higher education; —increasing the quality of the university education process.
