The general objective is to continue the process of elaborating the necessary documentation in order to obtain the financing of the investment project from the European funds for the 2014-2020 programming period, thus ensuring the continuation of the local strategy for the development of the water and wastewater sector and the fulfilment of the obligations of the Accession Treaty of Romania to the European Union, as well as of the specific national and European legislation in the water/wastewater sector. Through this project it contributes to the achievement of the main objective of the LIOP by ensuring a high quality of the financing application and the project itself, which will lead to the development of an environmental infrastructure to European standards in order to achieve sustainable economic growth, in conditions of safety and efficient use of natural resources. Purpose of the project: — rational use of water resources by providing centralised quality drinking water supply services, optimising consumption and reducing water losses in distribution networks; — conservation, protection and improvement of the quality of the environment – by collecting, purifying and properly discharging urban waste water from agglomerations over 2000 p.e.; — reducing the risks to human health and protecting human health through proper water treatment, – efficiency of the activity of the Regional Operator of water and sewerage services and – improvement of water quality in surface watercourses by appropriate treatment of domestic waste water before discharge into natural releases.
