The general objective of the investment measure is to improve the water/waste water infrastructure for the benefit of the environment and the population, in order to meet the obligations of compliance with the Accession Treaty. The activities related to the 2014-2020 phased project contribute both to the achievement of the objectives of SOP Environment 2007-2013 (by continuing and completing the works on rehabilitation and extension of water supply and sewerage systems in Pantelimon and Dobroesti localities) and to the achievement of the objectives set under the LIOP programme, priority axis 3 (Development of environmental infrastructure in conditions of efficient resource management), specific objective 3.2.(Crenching the level of collection and treatment of urban waste water, as well as the degree of supply of drinking water to the population) – CO18 Water distribution: The number of people who benefit from the water supply through the distribution network as a result of increasing the capacity of drinking water transport through the project, benefiting from the improvement of the level of treatment of drinking water, after the implementation of phase II of the project is 13,964 persons. The coverage of the connected population in the operating area will increase from 96.02 % (at the end of phase I-a) to 99.43 % at the end of the project (after the completion of phase II). — CO19 Wastewater treatment: The number of persons/equivalent population (p.e.) whose waste water is transported to the treatment plants through the waste water collection and transport network as a result of the increase of the transport capacity built by the project, after the implementation of phase II of the project is 13.771 equivalent persons (p.e.). The level of connection of biodegradable organic load (expressed in p.e.) to systems for collecting p.e. in agglomerations with more than 10,000 p.e. in the operating area of the project, which includes 6 agglomerations, will increase from 0.24 % (161 p.e.) at the beginning of the project to 94.57 % (64.028 p.e.), at the completion of phase I (when the 3 treatment plants – Bragadiru 16.223 p.e., Branesti 11.330 p.e. 13.049 p.e. have been completed), and at 99.43 % (65.848 p.e.) at the end of phase II.
