Connecting road DN5 km 60+ 500 – Belt road – Friendship bridge km 61+ 400

The overall objective of the project, as defined in the MPGT, is to improve the economic efficiency of the Romanian national transport network by reducing travel times in the TEN-T Core network, as well as to ensure improved connectivity between national growth poles for both passenger and freight transport. The project is intended to achieve the following general objectives: • Ensuring safe and comfortable travel as a result of high-quality infrastructure and eliminating transit traffic from urban areas; • Improvement of road infrastructure with a direct impact on improving the quality of life and the living environment; • Improving the performance of the national road network and TEN-T by increasing travel speeds and reducing travel time and cost operation; • Reducing the exposure of people living along the existing national road to air pollution, noise and traffic accidents. Once the project is completed, it will contribute to the achievement of the general objective of LIOP 2014-2020, Priority Axis 1 Improving mobility through the development of the TEN-T network and the metro, Specific Objective 1.1: “Increasing mobility on the TEN-T core road network”.
