The general objective of the project is to prepare the necessary technical and economic documents for the modernisation of the infrastructure of the Black Sea Danube Canal and the Midia Navodari Alba Canal in order to ensure safe navigation conditions throughout the entire navigable route. The general objective of the project contributes to achieving the objective of OS 1.3. i.e. improving the navigation conditions on the Danube and the Danube waterways. The objective of the project is in line with the objectives of Priority Axis 1 – mobility through the development of the TEN-T network and metro transport. In accordance with point 1.9 of the Applicant’s Guide, the project is not subject to State aid because: • the investment project aims to improve the safety of navigation on the Danube waterways, an activity under the responsibility of the state (according to the provisions of the Convention on Danube Navigation signed in Belgrade in August 1948 to which Romania is a party). • this objective is achieved by CN ACN SA as the port and waterway authority of the State. • The activities carried out within the investment project (modernisation, rehabilitation and completion of bank protection and consolidation works especially on high-bank sectors; talusaries and works to combat soil erosion especially on high-bank sectors; completion, rehabilitation and connection of the tributary valleys to the adjacent land for rainwater takeover, especially on high-bank sectors; modernisation and rehabilitation of drainage and rainwater collection system and exfiltration and execution of cavalry at the share of the natural land; modernisation and rehabilitation of trapezoidal wetted walls etc.) converge towards achieving the objective of improving navigation safety In conclusion the submitted project is a project to prepare an investment that is not subject to state aid. The project contributes to the achievement of the 2S81 result indicator – Grant application submitted, for analysis and approval, to the Intermediate Transport Body
