Development of water and wastewater infrastructure in Suceava County in 2014-2020

The general objective of the project is to improve the water and sewerage infrastructure in the localities of Suceava county included in the project, in order to fulfil the obligations established by the Accession Treaty and the relevant European Directives. Through the project, the following indicators set out in the LIOP will be achieved by 2023: • CO18 = 65783 inhabitants • CO19 = 107108 equivalent inhabitants Through these indicators, the project will contribute to the achievement of LIOP results, OS 3.2, as well as to compliance with European directives, as follows: The degree of connection, before the project, to the water supply system, in the project area, is 75 % – 166493 inhabitants (year 2023), of which 65 % – 143980 inhabitants (year 2023), supplied with quality water complying with Directive 98/83/EC). The LIOP will reach a connection rate of 95 % – 209764 place. (year 2023), fully supplied with quality water complying with Directive 98/83/EC, contributing to indicator 2S33. The percentage will increase to 100 % in the future through investments from other financing sources. The level of connection, prior to the project, of biodegradable organic load (in l.e.) to systems for collecting l.e. in agglomerations in the project coverage area is 52 % (132991 l.e.). The degree of connection of biodegradable organic load to collection systems in agglomerations with more than 10000 L.E. will increase from 80 % – 171937 L.E., to 97 % after project completion reaching 207319 L.E., and thus contributing to indicator 2S31. The degree of connection of biodegradable organic load to collection systems in agglomerations with 2000-10000 L.E. will increase from 25 % – 9495 L.E., to 80 % after the completion of the project in 2023, reaching 30461 L.E. and thus contributing to indicator 2S32. The percentage will increase to 100 % in the future through investments from other financing sources. The project provided investments to achieve 4 compliant SEAUs (new SEAU or rehabilitated SEAU), serving 4 agglomerations with more than 10000 L.E. (out of the 6 agglomerations larger than 10000 L.E. at project coverage level), contributing to indicator 2S29. The project provided investments to achieve 4 compliant SEAUs, serving 4 agglomerations between 2000-10000 p.e. (out of the 8 agglomerations between 2000-10000 L.E.), contributing to indicator 2S30. The number of inhabitants/L.E. whose waste water will be transported and treated after the completion of the project will be 204889 loc./240098 L.E., respectively a total of approx. 1.18 % of the total Romanian L.E. (20325520 L.E. in 2021) and a total of approx. 2.26 % of L.E. which still need to be connected to centralised waste water systems at the level of Romania (10630137 L.E. in 2014). For waste water, the compliant rates for agglomerations are verified and reported annually by the National Administration of “Romanian Waters”, while the connection rate to the site
