The main objective of the project is the Modernisation of the access control installations for 41 metro stations, 70 vestibules, in Bucharest as follows: 20 Magistral Stations 1, 14 Magistral Stations 2 and 7 Magistral Stations 3. The modernisation of the subway stations will be carried out by dismantling the old access control system composed of mechanical gates with tripod and the installation of the new access and charging gates as well as through software upgrade works. The secondary objectives of the project are to optimise the access of passengers to the existing metro transport network, to reduce fraud by modernising the access control facilities to improve the evacuation in case of need (fire, forced evacuation, etc.). Indicators to be achieved at the end of the project: Rehabilitated/upgraded access stations 41 pcs Access Gates installed 1.329 pcs Automatic cards for sale installed 139 pcs The capacity of crossing through the access gates area (travelers/hours) From 947 passengers/hours to 1091 passengers/hour The project will contribute to meeting the result indicator 2S8- Share of metro transport in public passenger transport in Bucharest, i.e. a 2 % increase. The project is framed in Priority Axis 1 (A.P.), Specific Objective 1.4 (SO) Increasing the use of metro transport in Bucharest – Ilfov.
