The general objective of the project is to improve the water and sewerage infrastructure in the localities of the project area, in order to meet the obligations established by the Accession Treaty and the relevant European Directives. The specific objectives of the project are the following: Improving water quality by: — increasing the connection of the population to the water supply network – drinking water supply to the quality standards set by the legislation – increasing the level of safety in the functioning of the system – reducing water losses. Improving the collection and treatment of waste water by: — extension of existing sewerage networks – establishment of sewerage networks in rural agglomerations with more than 2000 p.e. – production of wastewater pumping stations and related discharge networks – construction of treatment plants – treatment and recovery of dehydrated sludge.
