The aim of the project “Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Education and Science for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the EU Structural Funds for the 2014-2020 programming period, 1st stage” is to ensure capacity building of the Ministry of Education and Science as an institution involved in the administration of EU structural funds in order to implement planning, implementation, monitoring of the EU Structural Funds in the 2014-2020 programming period and to carry out post-monitoring of the planning period of EU funds for 2007-2013. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the State Education Development Agency. The main activities of the project will be:1. Programming, administration and supervision of European Union funds, providing remuneration to officials and employees of the Responsible Authority.Learning, conferences, seminars, committees, working groups and other activities providing training and qualification for officials and staff involved in the planning, administration, supervision and post-monitoring of European Union funds; 3.After monitoring of the 2007-2013 planning period of the European Union funds, providing remuneration to officials and staff of the VIAA as a partner of cooperation for post-monitoring. The project will be implemented in Riga, in the period from the fourth quarter of 2015 to December 31, 2018. The total cost of the project is EUR 4930746,00.
