Promotion of Latvia’s international competitiveness in tourism

The aim of the project is to develop the international competitiveness of Latvia as a tourism destination in the priority tourism sectors – business and event tourism, well-being tourism and promote local tourism. The increase in the export of Latvian tourism services will be ensured:•promoting the international competitiveness and visibility of Latvia as a tourism destination;•organising promotional campaigns and national stands corresponding to the target markets; •implementing promotional measures to increase the number of travellers and reduce seasonality.To promote Latvia’s international competitiveness in tourism The project will implement the following activities:•organisation of national stands at international tourism fairs abroad;•marketing activities and preparations for entering new markets: Tourism promotion campaigns; Visits by journalists and bloggers; Familiarisation visits of tour operators and business event organisers; Tourism information and marketing materials; Promotion and publicity measures for specialised tourism; Tourism market surveys; Costs of attraction of foreign tourists in Latvia; Business and business tourism attraction measures for Latvia•Support for participation of the event’s target group in international tourism and business tourism fairs abroad, tourism and business tourism conferences or forums abroad, tourism and business matchmaking abroad and foreign matchmaking online, international digital tourism and business tourism platforms, including digital exhibitions; Participation in seminars and trade missions abroad (until 20.08.2018); Publicity in foreign tourism and business tourism media; Adapting products or services to foreign markets; Sales visits abroad; International conferences, congresses and seminars in Latvia; For participation in the national stand at international tourism fairs and in Latvian tourism and business tourism presentations abroad. Marketing activities corresponding to the local market will be implemented in order to promote local tourism. 2nd quarter of 2016 – December 31, 2023.Project total funding – EUR 20939518.19, incl. ERDF – EUR 17 798539,08, state budget funding – EUR 2 183118,11 and private, municipal and planning regions co-funding – EUR 957861. Within the project until 31.12.2023, the following indicators will be achieved: Increase of the export volume of supported merchants until 31.12.2023– EUR 6068440; 275 merchants will receive support in planned marketing activities; 40 merchants will receive support in the form of grants; 250 merchants will receive non-financial support.
