The project will be implemented in the field of smart specialisation of Latvia – “Smart Energy”. The smart specialisation area chosen by the Energy and Transport Competence Centre (ETKC) is smart energy, comprising three research sub-directions: •Smart energy general issues; •Smart engineering and energy production solutions; •Intelligent Energy and Transport The aim of the Competence Centre is to support at least 10 research according to the defined research directions by developing new products and technologies in the sector and introducing them into production, thus promoting cooperation between research and industry, as well as increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in the sector. As a result of the activities of the Competence Centre, it is planned to support at least 10 research projects, at least 11 merchants who will introduce new products or technologies into production. The total research costs of the project are above 7 million euro, the planned amount of support from the European Regional Development Fund (hereinafter – ERDF) is EUR 4708111.50. The project is planned to be implemented within 39 months, from 1 April 2019 to 30 June 2022, including. Within 38 months of signing the contract.
