The project concerns the upgrading and further development of the Research Infrastructure (EY) of the Particles and Aerosol Technology Laboratory of the Institute of Chemical Processes and Energy Resources of the National Center for Research and Technological Development (IDEP/EKETA), an EY with international recognition, extroversion and high accessibility in a nationwide range, which will be a center for research and provision of technological services and tools, utilising and environmentally friendly processes. The main objective of the aided EY is to contribute to the support of entrepreneurship across the value chain that concerns the champion sectors of the Region of Central Macedonia (agrifood, materials, Textiles & Clothing & Clothing and Tourism). In particular, EIA aims to provide quality and specialised innovative applications and tools to improve energy savings and efficiency in the production of products (e.g. in the fields of agri-food, building materials and textiles) and the development of services (e.g. in the field of tourism – Green tourism), reducing the environmental footprint of raw materials, production and end products (low carbon footprint) and the development of systems for measuring and improving quality in products and services. EY will be a multidisciplinary platform aimed at a number of candidates for industrial recipients covering a wide range of Champions of the Region of Central Macedonia for the resolution of technological challenges and the development of new products/tools. In order to quickly promote the potential offered to its users by the upgraded EIA, ETTA will communicate the new research tools in its existing partnerships with the industry, as well as to local bodies close to the business world: Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace, the Municipalities of the Region of Central Macedonia, the Chamber of Commerce of Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Exporters Association, the Association of Industries of Northern Greece, etc.
