The project concerns the procurement of fire-fighting/rescue equipment for the reinforcement of the fire brigade services of the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace. These are special fire-fighting/rescue vehicles of various types which will be used to deal with road accidents, as well as in other incidents of the Fire Brigade. In detail, the project includes the supply of the following types of firefighting vehicles: — 3 Aquifers/Rescue fire trucks, 4Χ4, 500 litres of water, with an autonomous firefighting complex. These vehicles will be used by the Fire Brigade with the main task of patrolling and immediately fighting fires at the start, as well as transporting equipment to road transport accidents. For this reason they are off-road vehicles with limited external dimensions. — 1 Aquifer/Rescue fire truck, 4Χ2, 1.000 litres of water. It will be used by the Fire Brigade with the main task of extinguishing a fire in the event of a road accident and rescuing endangered persons, occupants of vehicles involved in a road accident or road users or the transport environment and should therefore provide great flexibility for rapid intervention and effective fire extinguishing or emergency incidents as soon as possible. It will also have additional appropriate equipment to intervene in other incidents of the Fire Brigade. — 1 Aquifer/Rescue fire truck, 4Χ2, 2.500 litres of water. It will be used by the Fire Brigade with the main task of extinguishing a fire in the event of a road accident and rescuing endangered persons, occupants of vehicles involved in a road accident or road users or the transport environment. They will also have additional, appropriate equipment to intervene in other incidents of the Fire Brigade. —2 Aquifers/Rescue Firefighting Vehicles, 4Χ4, 4.000 litres of water. They will be used by the Fire Brigade with the main task of forest firefighting in the neighbouring environment and transporting equipment in road transport accidents, thus operating in extremely rough terrain and inaccessible areas. They will also have additional, appropriate equipment to intervene in other incidents of the Fire Brigade. — 1 Aquifer/Rescue fire truck, 6Χ4, 10.000 litres of water. It will be used by the Fire Brigade with the main task of extinguishing fire and supporting smaller aquifers and rescue fire vehicles in the event of a rolling accident. It will also have additional, appropriate equipment to intervene in other incidents of the Fire Brigade. 7 Special Van rescue vehicles. These are mixed-use vehicles (carriage of personnel and equipment), with the main task of transporting personnel and equipment to road transport accidents, as well as other incidents of the Fire Brigade. They will have sufficient spaces capable of transporting 9 persons, including the driver, and additional luggage compartments for fitting equipment.
