AVE. KARAMANLI: CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD SECTION FROM C.T. 3+ 330 TO C.T. 5+ 690

The object of the Act is the construction of the road section of Karamanlis Avenue (Old National Road of Athens Thessaloniki), from the level junction with Semertzidis Street until the adjustment to the level junction with Digeni Street, with the construction of three (3) circular nodes and the corresponding side network. The total length of the artery is 2.40 km including its adjustments to the existing route at the beginning and end of the artery. In addition to the artery include: The improvement of reconstruction of the level knot of Karamanlis Avenue with Semertzidis street (Ch. 3+ 660) with the formation of a roundabout and the abolition of the existing signpost. The construction of a level cycling hub (roundabout) achieves improvement of road safety and upgrading the traffic capacity of the level hub. The construction of Triskellos of a level roundabout at the intersection of Karamanlis Avenue with Ferekidi Street (Ch. 4+ 120). With the construction of the level junction, it is possible to reverse the artery and after the opening of the Ferekydis road it will be possible to connect the road concerned and by extension the road Farsalon with Karamanli Street. The construction of four-level roundabouts at the intersection of Karamanlis Avenue with Amouri Street (Ch. 4+ 890). The construction of the level node provides the possibility of reversing the artery for the better operation of the artery and the sideways and after the opening of Amouri Street it will be possible to connect the road concerned and by extension the Farsalon road with Karamanli Street and the safe communication of the areas on either side of the artery.(d) The construction of adjacent roads of a single direction that contributes to the comfortable, smooth communication of the areas. The roads of the city plan as well as the off-project rural roads are connected to the adjacent roads, which then contribute to the artery. Road safety is thus significantly improved by the fact that the adjacent roads are connected to the artery by means of entry and exit lanes, and through the circular nodes, the uninterrupted redirection as well as the possibility of reversing. This section also provides for the construction of the adjacent roads SR-2A and SR-3D respectively. The side roads will be mainly one-way roads, with a width of 5.50 m (safety) with one lane. On the dividing islet between artery and adjacent routes planting will take place according to the green study. Finally, in order to serve the inhabitants of the area, the construction of pavements about 2.00 m wide is included along the adjacent roads and the city plan.
