The project concerns the financing of the operation for 24 months of the following actions:
1. Establishment and operation of a Multipurpose Center in Volos: It aims to provide primary support services, short-term intervention to all groups of addicts according to their needs (drug dependants, occasional users, alcohol users, people with dual diagnosis, etc.) and to refer to more specialised structures (replacement programs, therapeutic communities, etc.) if necessary.
2. Prevention Services Program: It concerns 1 concerted effort focusing on timely implementation of meaningful and targeted measures for vulnerable groups of our fellow human beings, providing accessible and scientifically documented interventions, promoting healthy forms of entertainment and entertainment for people. The action of the Prevention Centres (CIs) of the Region of Thessaly will be strengthened and better addressed to the serviced population and their needs across the region. It comprises 2 actions: A) Prevention services: They will be based on ethically sound and sustainable interventions that meet the specific psychosocial needs of the population. The identification of local needs will be achieved through the cooperation of OKANA and EPISY/ECTEPIN. The actions will be based on the local structures of OKANA. b) Establishment and operation of a Psychosocial Health Advisory Station at the University of Thessaly: The aim is the universal coverage of the student population in matters relating to counselling and psychological support. The action undertakes the awareness of the student community of the University of Thessaly and the possibility of counseling and psychological support for students from all faculties and departments.
3: Social Integration Program in Larissa: It concerns the strengthening and enrichment of interventions aimed at the removal of social exclusion and the social integration of former, or rehabilitated, individuals. Indicatively, the services will concern programmes for the development, enhancement or improvement of professional skills, active job search techniques, networking with professional and social actors, voluntary work activities, vocational guidance and counseling. This will prevent relapse, strengthen the therapeutic effects, strengthen self-esteem, self-energy, autonomy and develop ‘social dialogue’. The operation of this program will lead to the adoption of therapeutic options by active drug users and, at the same time, will contribute to the discharging of the judicial machine from a multitude of cases that need therapeutic treatment rather than repressive treatment and will facilitate the social integration of those who have completed the treatment programs. Of all the above actions are expected to benefit more than 400 people.
