The project concerns the strengthening of the structures and services against dependencies in the Municipality of Thessaloniki and includes the following actions: — Establishment and operation of 2 branches of the Open Homeless Day Center (AKIA), aimed at people living on the street. These are mainly drug users and/or alcohol dependants. AKIA aims to provide primary health care services and psychosocial support, and to ensure the possibility for individual care, hygiene, feeding, clothing, mobilisation to increase individual functionality, reconnection with government agencies and the community, refer to special treatment programs, etc. – Mobile Intervention Unit, which will complement the existing AKHA Branches and aims at intervening in areas outside the urban area and in the non-urban areas.
