Within the framework of this project, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, having developed a structured and integrated network of social structures and actions for vulnerable groups of the city’s residents, will organise the coordinated information and networking of these structures with the vulnerable groups of its population. In particular, a Community Centre will be organised with 2 offices, 1 in the eastern sector and 1 in the western part of the city. In addition, a Migrant Integration Centre (KEM) will be incorporated into the office of the Community Centre for the Western Sector due to the large concentration of refugees in the region. Community Centres are the core of extended One Stop Shop-type services, with a personalised holistic approach, which, by supporting or cooperating with the other Social Services of the Municipality, will strengthen the policies already implemented or planned, such as the universal implementation of the Social Income Solidarity Fund (CAC), which is planned to launch gradually within 2016 and to implement at national level, the European Aid Fund’s Programme, the Community’s Appropriate Actions.
