The project concerns the implementation of interventions aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the residences of the Region of Central Greece, which are proven to have little energy efficiency and belong to low-income owners who cannot fully finance the energy upgrade of their home with their own funds, thus contributing both to the country’s energy savings and to the cost savings borne by the family budget. In order to achieve the energy upgrade of housing, a specific energy objective is set, which is achieved through funded interventions. The coverage of the energy target will be ensured by conducting energy inspections of the houses inspected by an Energy Inspector both before and after the implementation of the interventions. In the context of implementation of the project, aid will be paid either directly to the beneficiary’s direct grant, or a grant in conjunction with an interest-free or low-interest loan. The financial instrument to be used for the implementation of the project will result from the ex ante evaluation of a financial instrument for energy saving actions in the household sector. The establishment of specific criteria to be applied in respect of the owner’s income situation, the value of the property’s zone and incentives for the cases of apartment buildings, where the final savings results are much greater, will ensure the social character of the operation of the Fund. The eligible interventions concern, inter alia, thermal insulation, replacement of frames, shading systems, upgrading of heating systems, etc.A specific energy objective is also set, which must be achieved through these interventions. The coverage of the energy target is ensured by conducting energy inspections of the buildings by an Energy Inspector both before and after the implementation of the interventions. The final beneficiaries of the project will be owners of dwellings, natural persons, who want the energy upgrade of their properties.
