The project concerns the restoration and reuse of the preserved Kotsianou house as a folklore museum and cultural space. The “Kotsiadio” complex of buildings is located in the center of Polygyros, in the Prefecture of Chalkidiki, on Patriarch Iakovos street, just below the historical web at a short distance from the Town Hall and the Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos. The building concerned is a wide-facing rectangular building with evident construction characteristics of the Macedonian architecture of the 18th and 19th century. In its intended use, exhibition spaces, multipurpose halls, a library with a reading room and an administration information desk will operate. The necessary auxiliary areas (sanitary areas, warehouses, boiler room, elevator for direct access to all areas of the building) will also be created. In the surrounding area of the building, the semi-terraces (gains) that exist will be used as exhibition spaces and the rest of the uncovered space will be designed so that it can host various outdoor events.
