The Armed Forces, apart from their main work to guard the country’s borders and its territorial integrity, assist the country’s civil protection teams with the provision of qualified or non-skilled personnel as well as means, in response to the provisions of the Xenokratis plan. The implementation of this specific action and the procurement of the relevant specialised machinery/equipment will have as a direct consequence the maintenance of the high operational readiness of the Armed Forces to prevent and address more effectively risks and threats, as well as to ensure the possibility of immediate reaction, always within the framework of the XENOKRAtis plan. In addition, it will contribute to social assistance and support activities of state agencies in response to emergencies. More specifically, the supply of specialised vehicles/equipment provided by this action will naturally result in the increase of the contribution of the Armed Forces in the following areas:The implementation of emergency plans and natural disasters, with parallel rescue and damage repair capabilities.The ability to build and repair damage to infrastructure and installations.In maintenance, maintenance, maintenance of open roads.
