The project concerns the integrated wastewater management system in the geographical area of the Municipalities of Rafina-Pikermion and Spata-Artemida and will provide a final solution to the area’s sewage treatment problem for decades.The Wastewater Treatment Centre (CEL), with a capacity of 135,000 inhabitants in its initial phase (provision 2030) and up to 225.000 in the final phase (2060), will operate with cutting-edge technology that will allow the use of effluent for unlimited urban irrigation. The Centre for Environmental Awareness and Information, in which pilot applications for the re-use of the outflows of the CDC, will be implemented, as well as environmental information and training actions will be implemented.  The Centre aims to be a pole of attraction and upgrading of the wider area, ensuring benefits for both municipalities.
