The general objective of the project is to increase the accessibility of rural and urban areas in Alba county located close to the core TEN-T network by upgrading the county road DJ 107I on the Aiud route (DN 1) – Aiudul de Sus – Rimet – Bradesti – Geogel – Macaresti – Birlesti Catun – Cojocani – Valea Barnii – Birlesti – Mogos – Valea Alba – Ciuculesti – Bucium – Bucium – Bucium Sat – DN74 (Cerbu), in accordance with the practices and policies of the European Union and in the context of Priority Axis 6 of the Regional Operational Programme. The project contributes to the achievement of the specific objective of investment priority 6.1. of ROP 2014-2020 “Boosting regional mobility by connecting secondary and third-party nodes to TEN-T infrastructure including multimodal nodes”, namely to increase the accessibility of rural and urban areas located close to the TEN-T network through the modernisation of county roads. The County Road 107 I will contribute, in the medium term, to facilitating the movement of the population and goods in the area served directly by the road, as well as direct access to the basic TEN-T network, to facilitating the population’s access to public services of education, health, transport, telecommunications, emergency interventions, revitalisation of socio-economic activities, including tourism, increasing labour mobility and creating new job opportunities, leading to a sustainable development of the area.
