The general objective of the project “Reconversion and refunctionalisation of the land around the Lake in the Garea Quarter” is to reconvert and refunctionalise the land around the lake in the Gare district and increase the use by the residents of the district, by creating relaxation and sports areas, in order to improve the urban environment, revitalise the city, reduce air pollution and promote noise reduction measures. This objective is consistent with the specific objective of Priority Axis 4 – Supporting Sustainable Urban Development, Investment Priority 4.2, Delivering actions to improve the urban environment, revitalise cities, regenerate and decontaminate brownfields (including reconversion areas), reduce air pollution and promote noise abatement measures, Specific Objective 4.2. Reconversion and refunctionalisation of degraded, vacant or unused land and areas in the county residence municipalities. In conclusion, the reconversion and refunctionalisation of the land around the lake in the Gara district and the increase of the use by the residents of the district will contribute to the achievement of the specific objective of the Priority Axis.
