General objective: Improving the sanitary infrastructure in the Center Region by investing in non-hospital infrastructure in Sibiu county. Our project aims to support the improvement of the quality and efficiency of hospital care in the infrastructure of the specialised outpatients in Sibiu. We chose to carry out this project in order to diversify/develop the services offered by the Ambatory of the Gheorghe Preda Psychiatric Hospital in Sibiu by strengthening the base of the medical services thus being able to take over some of the medical cases (small illnesses, chronic conditions, etc.) or to ensure the necessary prevention, in order to improve the health status and increase the social inclusion of people. This segment of the public health system, i.e. outpatients, aims at increased access to preventive and primary care services for poor and low-access areas. The added quality of infrastructure and equipment/equipments will develop the network of modern medical centers capable of providing modern primary medical care. This will lead both to the efficiency of the health system, by reducing avoidable admissions, and to making the provision of outpatient care accessible. The project also aims to reduce inequalities in the health status of the rural population, in remote or economically disadvantaged areas of Sibiu Municipality and County in particular, by diagnosing diseases in the early stages and successfully treating milder conditions, preventing their worsening and reducing the proportion of people with unmet medical needs.
