Overview Overall objective: Improving the quality of life of citizens, especially the disadvantaged, in the city of Ştei. Description General objective: In the city of Ștei, according to the Atlas of marginalised urban areas in Romania, less than 10 % of the population is located in marginalised areas, and as highlighted in the Feasibility Study, the 2 investment objectives are focused in an area with quick and easy access for people who will live there, in any part of the city. The intention to solve several problems at the same time is an integrated approach aimed at: social segment through Objective 1 – Building social housing, and last but not least, the recreational segment through Objective 2 – Park and access alley. Given that Objective 1 can also serve the educational interests of students from the Unirea Technical College, we can say that this project also affects the educational segment because it facilitates access to education by providing accommodation to those who cannot commute. According to the Atlas of Marginalised Rural Areas and Local Human Development in Romania, in the city of Ştei, the Local Human Development Index (ID) is 76.48. Contribution of the project to the achievement of Specific Objective 13.1 – “Improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania”. (crt. 1 ETF): By working together to intervene in two important areas: social, recreational and with a more subtle impact on the educational one, the project contributes to the achievement of Specific Objective 13.1: “Increasing participation in early childhood and compulsory education, in particular for children at high risk of early leaving” through the following features: to improve the quality of life of vulnerable groups, to have access to a dwelling located near any point in the city through the central location of the objective (objective 1), improving leisure conditions (Objective 2). The proposed 2 investment objectives are also highlighted as priorities in the development strategy of Ștei City Administration, a destinationless building located in the central area of the city, given that vulnerable people do not have substantial financial resources, an important way to support them is to create structures located in proximity to the most important points of the city. If this is corroborated by the fact that the project will provide 12 social housing as well as a green area for recreation, we can consider that the goal of improving the quality of life of citizens, especially those belonging to vulnerable groups, has been achieved.
