Development and prioritisation of passenger transport in Oradea

The general objective of the project is to reduce carbon emissions in Oradea by creating green tram waves in the Magheru – Dacia bridge area and building a new tram line in the area of Calea Aradului – Dimitrie Cantemir, through an integrated approach based on the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Oradea. The general objective was defined in order to comply with the investment priorities established by the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) approved by Decision No 700/10.08.2017 of the Local Council of Oradea. Through SUMP the municipality aims to achieve an efficient, integrated, sustainable and safe transport system, which will promote economic, social and territorial development and ensure a good quality of life in the area of Oradea. This objective involves reducing carbon emissions by increasing the attractiveness of public transport, namely by offering transport alternatives and discouraging travel by car.
