The aim of the project is to improve the quality of life of the population of Calimanesti City through the rehabilitation and modernisation of the infrastructure of educational, cultural and recreational services as well as the infrastructure of urban public spaces. The general objective of the project is consistent with the specific objective of investment priority 13.1, namely improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania. The city of Calimanesti has in its composition the localities Caciulata, Jiblea Noua, Jiblea Veche, Pausa and Seaca, with a total population of 7622 inhabitants according to the 2011 Censamnat data. According to information from the Atlas of Marginalised Urban Areas (http://www.inforegio.ro/images/Publicatii/Atlas%20zone%20urbane%20marginalizate.pdf ), Calimanesti City has 8.19 % of the population in marginalised areas, 24.46 % of the population in disadvantaged areas on human capital, 11.02 % population disadvantaged per occupation. At national level, statistics indicate that in small and medium-sized cities, compared to large urban centres, there are most people living in households at risk of poverty and social exclusion, with the risk of poverty being inversely proportional to the degree of urbanisation. The Local Urban Development Index (ID) for Calimanesti City is 71.92. The percentage of population affected by housing, employment or human capital development deficiencies is 47.59 % in Calimanesti City. To distinguish from large cities, where poverty often concentrates spatially in certain parts of cities, where the lack of coordinated and focused interventions leads to the emergence of disadvantaged neighbourhoods, in small urban centres, poverty and social exclusion are, as a rule, widespread phenomena at city level and are all the more pronounced in rural areas belonging to the city. The lack of adequate educational infrastructure, especially in rural areas belonging to the city, favours the phenomenon of socio-space segregation of residents. In general, small urban centres, such as Calimanesti City, face several socio-economic problems, such as: population migration to larger urban centres or abroad, ageing population, rising unemployment, low economic activity, poor quality of public services and infrastructure, etc. According to the 2011 Census, Calimanesti City has a 5.64 % Roma population. According to the official records of the Calimanesti City Hall, currently, at the level of the city (including its localities) there are 406 people with disabilities, 115 of whom are children. There are also 402 socially assisted persons, including 131 beneficiaries of VMG (guaranteed minimum income) and 271 beneficiaries of ASF (allocation for family support). Project v
