Modernisation of DJ 678, Limit Olt County – Dragoesti – Old House – Dragioiu – Galicea – Bratia – Cremenari – Bercioiu – Ruda – Barsesti – Barza – Budesti (DN7 – E81)

Ensuring a modern and sustainable regional and local transport infrastructure, as well as all other conditions regarding the systematic development of the economy and the improvement of quality of life, namely increasing economic competitiveness and improving the living conditions of local and regional communities by supporting the development of the business environment, infrastructure conditions and services, ensuring a sustainable development of the regions, capable of managing resources efficiently, capitalising on their potential for innovation and assimilation of technological progress. The project proposes to modernise the county road 678, 38,554 km long, starting from the border with Olt County, through the communes Drăgoești, Olanu, Galicea, Budești, where it intersects with DN 7 (E81) which is part of the trans-European transport network, respectively TEN-T Core E81 (DN7), which is also found in the South-West Oltenia Regional Development Plan 2014-2020 (cf. p. 124.125 – fig.5.1,5.2). This county road is the shortest access route to the TEN-T Core E81 Trans-European Transport Network (DN7) Mălureni-Rm. Vâlcea-Câineni of the communities in the south and east of Valcea County. Thus, the proposed project,"Modernisation DJ 678, Limit Jud. Olt – Drăgoești – Casa Veche – Drăgioiu – Galicea – Brătia – Cremenari – Bercioiu – Ruda – Bârsești – Barza – Budești (DN7 – E81)" meets the general objective of the investment priority, namely to ensure a modern and sustainable regional and local transport infrastructure, in order to continuously develop the economy and improve the quality of life, by rehabilitating and improving the relevant parameters, i.e. increasing the speed, road safety, portance etc. of the county road that ensures direct connectivity with the TEN-T network, which is also apparent from the South-West Oltenia Regional Development Plan 2014-2020 (page 124.125 – fig.5.1.5.2).
