The present project aims to help solve one of the most acute problems currently facing Romania, namely a large part of the health services are provided directly in the hospital, this segment being much hypertrophic, while the services provided in the community are provided in a much less necessary volume. The outpatient must have a much more important role in providing specialised medical services and be an effective filter in reducing avoidable hospitalisations. The general objective of the project “Modernisation, extension and endowment of the outpatient infrastructure within the Motru Municipal Hospital” is the investments to improve the healthcare services within the integrated outpatients of Motru Municipal Hospital, investments that will contain increased access to primary care services for the poor and those in areas with reduced access. Thus, the aim is to reduce inequalities in the health status of the population, especially in rural areas, isolated or economically disadvantaged areas, by diagnosing diseases in the early stages and successfully treating milder conditions, preventing their worsening and leading to a decrease in the proportion of people with uncovered medical needs.
