Improving urban mobility and reducing CO2 emissions in Bailesti

The overall objective of the project is to reduce carbon emissions in urban areas based on sustainable urban mobility plans. The present project achieves this objective by introducing environmentally friendly public transport vehicles into service, which will reduce the impact of transport activity on the environment, by modal shifting – abandoning the use of transport by private vehicle. This type of project for the purchase of environmentally friendly means of transport for public transport is expressly provided for in the ROP 2014-2020, Axis 3, Investment Priority 3.2, which encourages and supports the development of pilot projects for the introduction of public transport in urban areas, while ensuring the proper technical state of the streets will increase the traffic capacity and improve the level of comfort and safety perceived by users. In addition, in order to achieve the general objective, it will be easier for bicycle users to access this mode of transport and leisure by making it possible to rent bicycles at certain points: in the central area, at the ends of the runway routes, in areas with high housing density, in areas with high travel attractiveness. The intervention includes infrastructure components (rent stations/kiosks, racks, automatic cardur release and reloading), means of transport (bikes) and management components (dispatched hardware and software equipment).
