Intervention works (D.A.L.I.) rehabilitation, modernisation, expansion and efficiency of public lighting – optimisation of electricity consumption in Bailesti Municipality

The modernisation and rehabilitation of the public lighting system will take into account: — Rehabilitation and efficiency of the existing lighting system, – Replacement of lamps with high electric energy consumption with lighting by using lamps with high energy efficiency (LED lamps), long lifespan and ensuring appropriate comfort, – Installation of a dimming and telemanagement system of the public lighting system, – Installation of lighting fixtures on poles on which there is a lighting network – Use of renewable energy sources, – Lower electricity consumption for lighting, – Lower greenhouse gas emissions, – Reduction of operating and maintenance/maintenance costs for the public lighting system, – Increasing the rated life of light sources and reduced depreciation of initial parameters. Indicators tracked as a result of project implementation: • Decrease the annual primary energy consumption in public lighting (kwh/year) by min. 40 % • The estimated annual decrease of greenhouse gases (equivalent tons of CO2) by min. 40 % • the implementation of environmentally friendly solutions (through the use of environmentally friendly/recyclable/sustainable materials) • the installation of alternative systems for the production of electricity from renewable energy sources, in areas suitable for the realisation of appropriate lighting determines, in particular: • reducing indirect costs, • reducing the number of accidents at night, • reducing the risk of road accidents, • reducing the number of aggressions against people, • improving the social and cultural climate by increasing the safety of activities during the night. Ensuring proper lighting can lead to a 30 % reduction in the total number of accidents at night for urban roads, 45 % for rural roads and 30 % for highways. At the same time, the proper lighting of the sidewalks substantially reduces the number of physical aggressions, leading to an increase in the confidence of the population during the night.
