The project “RESTAURATION, CONSOLIDATION AND PROMOTION OF THE HISTORIC monument CULA Izvoranu-Geblescu” has as a general objective the sustainable exploitation of the History Monument of national importance Cula Izvoranu-Geblescu in order to boost local development by increasing the number of visitors and intensifying economic activities during the implementation and sustainability period. The specific objectives of the project are: • OS1: restoration and protection of the historical monument Cula Izvoranu – Geblescu, in an advanced state of degradation, in danger of collapse; • OS2: sustainable valorisation of the historical monument Cula Izvoranu – Geblescu by transforming it into an attractive cultural and touristic objective of county and regional relevance, respecting the principles of sustainable development and equal opportunities; • OS3: increasing the contribution of the historical monument Cula Izvoranu – Geblescu to the economic and social development of Dolj County and South-Western Oltenia region, by attracting an increased number of visitors to the objective (average annual growth rate of 9 %). According to the Applicant’s Guide for the call for projects POR/2016/5/5.1/1, the investment priority 5.1 – Conservation, protection, promotion and development of natural and cultural heritage has the specific objective of stimulating local development by preserving, protecting and enhancing cultural heritage and cultural identity. Both through the general and the specific objectives, “RESTAURATION, CONSOLIDATION AND PROMOTION of the ISTORIC monument CULA Izvoranu-Geblescu” meets the objective of the investment priority as presented in the guide and the programme documents. The project will lead to the achievement of the proposed indicators, i.e. 1 cultural heritage objective preserved, protected or restored (Historical Monument Class A) and to increase the number of visitors by a rate of 10 %, thus contributing to the achievement of the ROP 2014-2020 programme indicators, namely: restored cultural heritage objectives/objectives; increase the expected number of visits to cultural and natural heritage objectives and attractions supported/visits/year, or increase the number of heritage objectives in very good and good conservation status/heritage objective – according to the General Guide. By default, the project contributes to the overall objective of the ROP 2014-2020: increasing economic competitiveness and improving the living conditions of local and regional communities by supporting the development of the business environment, infrastructure conditions and services, ensuring the sustainable development of regions, capable of managing resources efficiently, exploiting their potential for innovation and assimilation of technological progress, by boosting economic tourism activities and other related or related activities: services, goods, etc.
