Improvement of the quality of life in the city of Siret, Suceava county

The overall objective of the project is to: Improving the quality of life in the city of Siret jud Suceava. Project contribution to OS 13.1 – Improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania The project will contribute directly to: — improving living conditions for people with low incomes – increasing the number of social services offered to the elderly population through the establishment of new services – increasing the number of cultural and recreational services through the establishment of new services – improving the quality of public services in the road sector through street rehabilitation – improving the quality of the surrounding environment through the development of green spaces, construction of bicycle paths and pavement construction. The project’s contribution to achieving the objectives of Investment Priority 9b – Providing support for physical, economic and social revitalisation of disadvantaged communities in urban and rural regions The implementation of the project will contribute to: — promoting social inclusion and preventing marginalisation of disadvantaged groups or vulnerable groups through the development of existing social services, the establishment of new social services and the establishment of new public services in the field of culture and leisure – combating territorial segregation by improving access to public services as a result of the rehabilitation of some roads on the territory of the town of Siret, with a population of 9712 inhabitants in 2017. According to the Atlas of marginalised urban areas in Siret city 78.31 % of the population is disadvantaged on at least one of the 4 monitored criteria and only 21.69 % of the population live in unadvantaged areas. Within the project will be achieved social, cultural, recreational and road infrastructure objectives that will provide a wide range of services and will address the population of the city as a whole, thus ensuring the integrated character of the project. Particular attention will be paid to vulnerable or risky social groups: low-income or low-income people, elderly people, young people. The investments envisaged are: — building social housing – building a day centre for elderly people – building a youth center – building a recreational center – setting up a playground, a sports field and some green areas around the A-type objectives – rehabilitation and modernisation of several roads in the locality – the construction of sidewalks and bicycle paths on several sections The project contributes directly to the achievement of Axis 13.1 objective and investment priority 9b, having an integrated character due to the variety of investment objectives proposed for funding and the diversity of the categories of beneficiaries of this project.
