The project covers the cleaning and closure of the jome Sovjak which will eliminate the negative impact of hazardous waste on the surrounding population and the wider area, contribute to the achievement of the indicators of the OPCC 2014-2020; to assist Croatia in fulfilling its obligations towards the EU, and to contribute to the economic development of the municipality as a prerequisite for further development of tourism. The project will eliminate the negative impact of waste on the environment, create a new green area and a potentially beneficial habitat for certain plant and animal species, compared to the present visual, ecological and ambient degraded condition of the site. The area will take up suburban character, better suited around the region, and the site will remain owned by the Municipality of Viškovo and serve public applications.
