This project: Stage I is a component of an integrated project entitled Mazurska ROWER PĘTLA, the object of which is to prepare and start a cycling route around the Great Masurian Lakes leading through the natural and landscaped areas of Mazury. MPR_Stage I located within admin boundaries. 12 municipalities: Węgorzewo, Pozezdrze, Giżycko, the city of Giżycko, Miłek, Orzysz, Pisz, Ruciane-Nida, Mikołajki, Mrągowo, the city of Mrągowo and Ryn. Stage I is 293 km (municipal roads, district roads and forest areas). Length is based on technical/design documentation. The MPR will run through the following towns: Marina/Mamerki – Węgorzewo – Ogonki – Pozezdrze, Sterławki Małe – Doba – Radaje – Perkunowo – Giżycko – Wilkasy – Bogaczewo – Kula Canal – Ridzewo – Marcinowa Wola, Cierzpiety – Okartowo – Karwik – Pisz – Wiartel – Karwica – Crosses – Ruciane-Nida – Iznota, Mikołajki – Old Sady – Jora Wielka – Notyst- Ryn/Loop Mrągowska: JORA Wielka – Użranki – Kosewo – Mrągowo – Młynowo – Ryn – Eagle. Its scope includes the construction of a cycling route and the creation of a hiking trail, uniform marking of the route, setting up information boards, the designation and construction of service locations for cyclists (MOR) and observation towers (WW) along with the necessary infrastructure, marking of valuable natural sites. The project involves the construction of separate cycle paths from hard surfaces, modernisation of gravel roads, modernisation of engineering structures (bridges, culverts) construction of a foot-bicycle track. The project is consistent with the objectives of Priority Axis 6 – Culture and heritage of the ROP WiM indicated in the SZOOP, as it will result in a built cycling route, enabling Warmia and Mazury to maintain a competitive advantage over other regions based on natural heritage resources.
