The main objective of the project is to strengthen the development potential of the central part of Chełm by improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of degraded areas and improving access to common spaces. As part of the project, a universal urban space will be created as a place for meetings, leisure, intergenerational integration and business activity. The area of Chełmska Old Town will be given new social functions and will be open to the needs of a wide range of audiences, with a particular focus on the elderly, children and young people. The objectives planned in the project will be achieved through measures, i.e. the reconstruction of the Pl. Dr. Edward Łuczkowski in Chełm, the renovation of the entrance to the underground, the reconstruction of the building and the underground protection along with the execution of external technical infrastructure, the reconstruction of the City Park in Chełm at ul. Lublin, together with the implementation of the monitoring system and electrical infrastructure and the exchange of consumer information elements (restore the old urban landscape on pl.). As part of the real task, products will be created: Number of supported infrastructure facilities located in revitalised areas-4 pcs., Public or commercial buildings built or renovated in urban areas-188.52 m², Area area under revitalisation-11.69 ha, Open space created or rehabilitated in urban areas-116755.48 m², Implementation of planned actions in the project will bring results, i.e. Number of persons using socio-cultural/tourism facilities covered by the project – 40000 persons The project’s activities are aimed at solving problems and meeting the needs of the project’s stakeholder group: residents of the district of Chełmsk borough and land, local authorities, business entities, tourists, entities of the III sector, institutions and media.
