The aim of the project is to increase the participation of people at working age in prevention, rehabilitation and health care programmes and to improve the detection of lung cancer by applying primary and secondary prevention for the inhabitants of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. Primary prevention includes information and education activities in the field of preventive research and the availability of anti-tobacco counselling, both among health professionals and residents of a given voivodship. Building awareness and promoting preventive research will increase the detection of cancer changes in the early stages of progress and rapid implementation of surgical and systemic treatment, which will significantly affect the social and professional activity of the inhabitants of the region, improve the quality of life of patients and reduce the cost of treatment. Implementation of the programme in cooperation with POZ clinics, specialised clinics in the field of lung disease aims to educate health professionals in the field of prevention of lung cancer. The aim of the secondary prevention project is to detect early lung cancer in people at high risk of getting sick. The project is aimed at people living in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship not covered by the National Programme for Early Detection of Lung Cancer (WWRP), including those at working age who are in a higher risk group. Persons aged 55-74 with a tobacco consumption greater than or equal to 20 pack years, a period of tobacco abstinence of not more than 15 years and persons aged 50-74 years with a tobacco consumption greater than or equal to 20 pack years, a period of tobacco abstinence of not more than 15 years with one of the risk factors, and regardless of age a high-risk group included in the programme based on the lung cancer risk calculator – the predictive model of lung cancer malignancy.
