The investment concerns reconstruction along with the extension of DW 254 Brzoza – Łabiszyn – Barcin – Mogilno – Wylatowo on the section Brzoza – Łabiszyn from km 0 + 069 to km 13 + 280. The analysed section DW 254 Brzoza – Łabiszyn is the first stage of the Brzoza – Barcin section indicated in the Kujawsko-Pomeranian Road and Rail Transport Cohesion Plan 2014-2020. The task is carried out in the formula “design and build”. The scope of activities includes, but is not limited to: reinforcement of the ground floor, reinforcement of the surface structure to load 115 kN/axle, construction of roundabouts, acoustic screens, renovation of existing culverts, renovation of existing bridges and footbridges, reconstruction and construction of intersections with change of geometry, correction of side inlets and new traffic organisation, reconstruction and construction of bus bays, sidewalks, construction of bicycle paths, construction/reconstruction of existing lighting and drainage, implementation of environmental protection – crossings for animals, protective and guiding fences and other resulting from environmental decision. The material scope of the investment confirms that the project will have a positive impact on safety on the roads of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship by improving technical conditions and using BRD equipment. Implementation of the project within DW 254 will improve the alternative connection to national road 5 between the city of Bydgoszcz and Gniezno and Poznań (via DK15). In addition, the implementation of the project will also improve communication between Bydgoszcz – Łabiszyn – Barcin – Mogilno, including the Special Economic Zone in Barcin and the airport in Bydgoszcz.
