The objective of this project is to reduce emissions of air pollutants from the combustion of solid fuels in individual heating installations in selected municipalities of the land of Kłodzko. This is a grant project and will consist of grants awarded by the grantor for projects implemented in single-family and multi-family residential buildings for the replacement of existing carbon-intensive heat sources for connection to the district heating network, installations using renewable heat sources and boilers burning biomass or possibly gaseous fuels. The project will be implemented in 2019-2021 in the following municipalities of Lower Silesia: Duszniki Zdrój, Municipal Kłodzko, Kudowa Zdrój, Lewin Kłodzki, Szczytna, Złoty Stok, Polanica Zdrój. It plans to modernise a total of at least 199 heat sources, which should translate into an annual decrease in PM 10 emissions of 4.59 tonnes and an annual decrease in PM 2.5 emissions of 3.55 tonnes. In addition, it will tackle climate change with a planned reduction of 811 tonnes of CO2-equivalent CO2 emissions. The project will be implemented by the Association of Municipalities of Kłodzkie Land, acting as Applicant and Grant Provider, which is responsible for the implementation and management of the grant project and its monitoring during the period of its sustainability. In the above activities it will be supported by the aforementioned municipalities (to the extent specified in the Agreement on the implementation of the project). The grants will be natural persons – owners of single-family houses or apartments in single and multi-family houses, as well as housing communities and municipalities (for only Polanica Zdrój and Kudowa Zdrój), who will also act as operators of the infrastructure created as part of the project. In turn, all residents of the above-mentioned and neighbouring municipalities who, thanks to its implementation, will be able to breathe better air quality will be the recipients of the project’s effects.
