The main objective of the project is to increase the adaptation of the Silesian University of Technology to the needs of persons with disabilities in terms of architectural, communication, information, IT and educational procedures by 31.12.2022. The project provides for support of organisational changes and raising the awareness and competences of the staff of the university in the field of disability through the implementation of activities aimed at ensuring communication accessibility, IT tools, education procedures in higher education and architectural accessibility activities. All activities planned under the project will be aimed at removing all types of barriers and will make the university accessible to the OzN and to all other people regardless of their state of health and fitness. The reduction of barriers to accessibility for students and workers with disabilities and other constraints will be achieved by developing and expanding services and forms of adaptation in all six areas in such a way as to achieve the maximum standard of accessibility in each of them. The activities carried out in the project lead to the achievement of the model of the university available to MAXI, appropriate for the CI due to the needs of the OzN. The project, at all its stages crucial for the proper implementation of activities aimed at ensuring accessibility at the university, is implemented in formal cooperation with the environment of persons with disabilities. In 2019, cooperation agreements were signed with OzN Situations, which include the implementation of actions to provide support to PW students with disabilities, as well as to increase the awareness and skills of students and employees of the ESM in terms of support and assistance to people with limitations.
