The “Pomeranian Helps” project is implemented by the Pomorskie Voivodeship in the period from 1 May 2020 to 31.12.2020. The objective of the project is to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak and counteract its negative consequences, in particular for those in the special risk group of residents and employees of the DPS, who in the Pomeranian Voivodeship provide 24/7 care (support) in particular to elderly people with disabilities, chronically ill. The project is implemented in a grant formula. The target group of the project is residents and employees of 46 DPS from the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The project will provide grants to eligible entities operating DPS in the Pomeranian Voivodeship for the following activities: 1) wage supplements for DPS employees (excluding doctors and nurses) performing direct work with residents, 2) providing accommodation and meals for DPS employees outside their place of residence3) providing places at each DPS for quarantine for residents (among others, by covering costs related to accommodation, provision and care of persons who will be in quarantine)-place of 14-day quarantine before admission to DPS/after returning from the hospital. The period for which a grant may be awarded shall be 5 months. There is a possibility to extend the period of support (not for wage supplements), but this must always be an epidemic situation in the area of grant implementation and DPS needs in conjunction with the fight against the effects of COVID-19.Effect of the project: the project aims to reduce the negative effects of the COVID-19 outbreak and is part of the provision concerning the extraordinary procedure referred to in Article 10 of the Act of 3 April 2020 on particular development supporting the implementation of operational programmes in conjunction with the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. The project’s assumptions have been approved by the Governor of Pomorskie.
